Two people feared dead, Others injured In Bank robbery Attack

No fewer than two people were killed and five others sustained different degrees of injuries during a robbery attack on a new generation bank, Wednesday in Ikirun, Osun state.
DailyPost gathered that the six armed robbers stormed the Ikirun branch in a commando style around 4 pm when the branch was about closing for the day and operated for over 30 minutes.
It was also learnt that the robbers went away with an undisclosed amount of money.
According to eye witness account, ” The robbers shot into the air as they stormed the bank, scaring away customers using the ATM outside the banking hall.
“Upon gaining entry, they threatened to kill anyone who tried to play smart, warning the bankers to cooperate fully with them.”
However the incident caused confusion while it lasted as traders around the bank and others ran for safety.
The Osogbo-Ikirun road was also avoided by motorists, for the fear of running into the robbers, a situation which caused heavy gridlocks in adjoining roads in the town.
Osun state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Folashade Odoro confirmed the incident, adding that the state command had deployed Police Officers to the town to calm the situation.
